This is Kaohsiung, the city we moved to one year ago. It is the second largest city in Taiwan and one of the largest ports in the world. Kaohsiung is located at the southern end of the island. It is highly industrialized but has a burgeoning art scene, beaches, and several prominent universities. In the last ten years, the city has undergone radical changes. Kaohsiung’s environment used to be an industrial waste land with a declared “dead river” and polluted skies. It has now become a greener place and a popular tourist destination. Kaohsiung has been the stage for several of our adventures as well as the back drop to our daily lives. For the time being, we are happy to call Kaohsiung home.
