Cijin Lighthouse and Cihou Fort

In addition to Cijin Beach, Cijin Lighthouse and Cihou Fort are great places to check out on Cijin Island. At Cihou Fort, you can find some information about the history of the fort, which was built back in the 19th Century. Additionally, the view of Kaohsiung City from Cijin Lighthouse is the best I’ve seen.

The view of the sunset from Cihou Fort isn’t bad either. (At least these people seem to think so.)

To get to Cijin Lighthouse and Cihou Fort, take the Gushan Ferry to Cijin Island. Turn right from the dock and follow the road for about one kilometer. You will see a path leading up a large hill. Climb the hill and you will find yourself at the fort. Keep walking past the fort, climb a few more stairs, and you will see the lighthouse.
