I suppose one thing that defines us as expats, rather than assimilated Taiwanese, is a need to keep our lives from changing completely. For us, in particular, this has meant preserving our love of sports and food.
The Lighthouse Bar & Grill has helped us achieve this. The owners serve up wonderful Western and Chinese dishes. (The veggie chili and veggie melt sandwich are favorites.) They also show most of the Premiere League games and some American sports. Brett, the owner, has always done his best to show what we wanted to see on the many televisions.
The Lighthouse is located on Fuguo Rd. between Yucheng and Liwun Roads. If you want to find a good sports bar in Kaohsiung, do yourself a favor and grab a beer at the Lighthouse.
