Keep driving past the hordes near the British Consulate, past the university, past secret beach, and you will arrive at one of the most beautiful parts of Kaohsiung. Turn left at the fork in the road where you see a tower of signs for various restaurants and you will be rewarded by sweeping views of the sea.
The nearby platform looks out over the sea and the numerous boats waiting to enter the Port of Kaoshiung. This is a great spot to watch the sunset.
If you walk down the hill, you will see a sign leading to Escape 41. This is a foreigner-run restaurant with a view. The food is nothing to write home about, but sitting on their patio, sipping fruity drinks while the waves crash on the rocks below your feet makes a relaxing afternoon. This is definitely the type of place that helps you forget about the hectic city life and reminds you that Taiwan is a gorgeous, tropical island.

Yes, this is where we were trying to go. I don’t think it would have been as nice then, however, as it was quite smoggy that day.
