In fantastic news for American expats in Taiwan (and everyone else), I recently learned that Krispy Kreme has opened its doors in Taipei! The city now boasts two locations that sell these fantastically sweet creations. Each donut costs between $30NT and $40NT. A dozen will set you back about $300-$350NT.

I prefer the Taiwanese fast food brands like QQ rice and Woo Ricebox, Blackball, and Gong Cha.
I’m not sure we have some of those down here in Kaohsiung. Regardless, I am not trying to take away from the Taiwanese brands. Those are fantastic. But, every once in a while it is a pleasure to have a taste from home. (And my guilty pleasure has definitely always been excessively sweet donuts!)
